Finding Expansion Through Yoga

Expansion through breath, posture, and being

EXPANSION
It wasn’t until beginning my yoga journey that I realized I was living constricted in breathing, posture, and energy.

It is surreal when you truly begin to breathe deeply the amount of spaciousness you feel, a stark contrast to only shallow breathing. This feeling of restriction was not limited to breath, but also to body and mind. A feeling of “not wanting to take up to much space” shrinking both self and breath to more easily accommodate others.

While there are times these feelings of constriction and restriction reappear, my practice is a daily reminder in expansion. To feel into body, breath, and mind. Redefining subconscious cultural conditioning that feeds us these lines of staying small is staying safe.

Big deep breaths, and deeply feeling into our postures.
Today’s Intention: Expansion * If you are scrolling right now take a pause, place one hand on your heart and one on your belly, allow yourself 5 deep nourishing breaths. Roll your shoulders up, back, and down.

Reflection: What would change in your life it you allowed yourself to permission to fully take up the space and energy that you need? What does personal expansion look like to you?
